It took a lot of work to get to this point, but we can finally say that Philippine futsal is undoubtedly on the rise. On Saturday, May 6, 2017, the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) held the nation’s first National Youth Futsal Cup at the University of Asia and the Pacific. Together with her friend Gisella Velasco, she co-founded Fly Art Productions, which is a pop-culture project that mixes hip-hop and classical art. 2016 was a roller coaster ride for sports fans. The basketball world was shaken when Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors broke the league’s single season record for wins, which was previously held by Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls. However, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers rained on the Warriors’ parade by beating them in the NBA Finals, lifting the Cleveland Sports Curse. The Chicago Cubs then proved that 2016 was a good year for ending curses, as they also put an end to their 108-year championship drought by finally winning the World Series.

You might think that these—together with the rest of last year’s major sporting events—cannot be topped, but we encourage you to reconsider. 2017 has a lot in store for sports fans everywhere. Continue reading

Futsal and Football aren’t as different as you might think. Indeed, there are key differences: futsal is mostly played indoors, while football is played outdoors; futsal balls bounce less and are a tad smaller; and it usually has five players per team, while football features eleven.
