IRONMAN and Technogym’s global partnership will debut with the IRONMAN Virtual Racing Series.

Technogym, the leading brand of fitness and training equipment, has announced that it is now the Official Global Fitness Equipment Partner of the long-distance triathlon series IRONMAN. To kickstart the partnership, Technogym will assist in launching the new IRONMAN Virtual Racing (VR) series as well as provide IRONMAN athletes with training solutions and equipment. It’s a natural fit since Technogym has been the official gym equipment supplier to the last seven Olympic Games and has also been appointed for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.

IRONMAN Virtual Racing is offered through the IRONMAN Virtual Club, a proprietary web-based platform that offers triathlon athletes the ability to train and compete remotely, even when race schedules face cancellations. Users can join the Virtual Club for free and will be able to track their progress, participate in challenges, join virtual races, earn loyalty points, and connect with fellow athletes from all over the world. A separate section includes coaching, workout plans, and an online concierge providing expertise in training and nutrition.

Technogym, as IRONMAN’s Official Global Fitness Equipment Partner, will provide professional triathlon athletes with an array of its world-renowned equipment and personalized training programs for their homes, gyms, or hotels. The equipment selection for IRONMAN athletes will include the MyCycling, Skillbike, MyRun, Skillrun, Skillrow, Excite Top, Kinesis Personal, and more.

Technogym’s MyCycling smart trainer is compatible with most time trial and road bikes and is easy to install, store, transport, and plug into a power source. Its torque flange sensor and optical readers analyze pushing power, visualize the circularity of pedal strokes, and measure the symmetry between the right and left leg. The flywheel design of the MyCycling trainer reproduces the sense of inertia on the road and makes pedaling feel natural, while its electromechanical brake provides the resistance.

The MyCycling smart trainer is controlled by a proprietary app that is compatible with virtual training environments from Strava, Garmin, Polar Flow, and Zwift. The app also offers Technogym Neuromuscular Training (TNT) workouts which are tailored to the user’s own anaerobic threshold.

Technogym’s SkillBike, the first and only stationary bike with real gear shift, was designed to emulate the challenges of riding outdoors, applying those physical demands to effective indoor training. Riders can shift gears when transitioning to hill climbing in order to counter resistance changes while maintaining power, proper cadence, and efficiency. The sophisticated, high-tech machine is adjustable to accommodate time trial, road, and mountain bike riding positions.

The SkillBike’s digital display provides real-time, visual feedback analyzing the symmetry and circularity of pedal strokes. Multiple useful readouts include cadence, speed, distance, gradient, power, heart rate, gear, gear ratio, riding profile, and more. Using routes from Swift, Garmin, and Strava is also possible, as well as Technogym Neuromuscular Training (TNT) programs.
