Technogym’s Growing Skill Line Powers Filipino Athletes for 2019 SEA Games
High hopes are pinned on our national athletes as they gear for gold at the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. This year, our elite athletes are getting the all-star treatment, with top-notch integrated performance training that only Technogym can provide.
Limitless Training for the Elite
E-sports International has equipped all facilities of the New Clark City Athletics Stadium with Technogym equipment. The company that has supplied the last six Olympic Games with machines for their gym facilities has recently expanded its SKILL LINE, a collection of training equipment designed in collaboration with Olympic champions. SKILLRUN, SKILLROW, and SKILLBIKE are all installed in the new Athletics Stadium, the first facility to be powered by the SKILL LINE on this scale.
Here’s how the SKILLRUN boosts athletic training:
- Revolutionary Multi-drive Technology: SKILLRUN is the first treadmill to combine cardio and power training. Athletes get multiple resistance programs to improve leg strength and running performance.
- Biofeedback Technology: Athletes can track running power, cadence stride length, ground contact time, propulsion, and flight time in real time.
- Outdoor Run: This treadmill has the highest commercial incline at 25%, and a decline at -3%. Athletes get enough uphill and downhill variation to work all of the muscles, and train for virtually any kind of running route.
- Innovative Training Modes: The sled push and parachute training modes encourage athletes to go for greater functionality by operating against resistance from the treadmill belt.
Accurate Parameters for Superior Results
Sprinter Anfernee Lopena can’t get enough of the comprehensive and versatile training machine, saying that it motivates him to take his performance to the next level.
“Actually, for the five years ko na pagiging National Athlete, itong gym na ‘to is parang masasabi ko na perfect talaga. Kasi bago ang equipment tapos kami pa nauna. Comfortable kami mag-weights dito kasi bago and maraming safety measures,” said Lopena, a member of the country’s 4×100 m relay team that snared a bronze in the 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
[Actually, in the five years that I have been a national athlete, this gym equipment is what I can call perfect. We are the first ones to use this new equipment. It’s very comfortable to use because it is new and has a lot of safety features.]
National Coach Sean Guevarra, meanwhile, lauded how the high-tech equipment helps athletes better learn the ins and outs of their strides. With the biofeedback features, athletes adjust how they run to make themselves more efficient and less injury-prone.
SKILL RUN is faster than other treadmills, reaching up to 30kph. Pre-set programs also allow athletes to have the ultimate group running experience. They can train together using programs that include high intensity interval training, speed resistance training, and neuromuscular training. With this kind of technology, our runners can achieve the highest levels of training in time for the 2019 SEA Games.
